Some of my students have been asking me how I lost 20 pounds in the past 2 months and while I would normally never recommend that my students take diet pills, Skinny Fiber IS NOT a diet pill. It is a vitamin supplement that helps you get in your daily recommended fiber intake. I purchased mine at this awesome fiber health resource website where a real skinny fiber distributor teaches us about the health benefits. But enough about that!
The recommended intake for most young adults is 22 grams a day. You can get this required amount through eating various fiber packed snacks. For example, a piece of fruit has 2 grams of fiber and a Nature Valley granola bar contains around 4 grams per bar. If you fail to eat fruits, veggies and carbohydrates that are complex like oatmeal, bran, and various fiber and grain breads, you might seriously be lacking in fiber.
I always encourage my kids to bring an apple with them or a granola bar for after our Physical Education class. We have Gym first thing in the morning, and if they work out hard for one hour and then have to wait three more hours until lunch, I fear they are putting their bodies in starvation mode and will not be able to function well or have enough energy for their other classes.
Here are some awesome fiber-filled snack ideas. I particularly like to have my skinny fiber pills 30 minutes before I have my water and snack and enjoy the following:
Snack Ideas: 1 - Green apple (low in sugar, high in fiber) 2 - Handful of unsalted nuts (raw almonds, raw peanuts or walnuts) 3 - Low-fat and sugar-free yogurt. Preferably plain and without any added sugar 4 - Piece of whole wheat bread or toast with almond butter 5 - Small bag of whole wheat bread sticks or carrots and a 1/4 of hummus 6 - Granola bar high in fiber and less than 8 grams of sugar per bar
